Steve Umland and his wife of 36 years, Sue, have owned a house in Apache Peak since 2009, but just recently moved full time to Desert Mountain. They have 3 grown sons, living in Milwaukee, Portland OR and a junior at Arizona State University. Steve is a CPA, having held CFO and Senior Finance and operations positions in three organizations after working for 13 years in Public 
Accounting. Until now, the Umlands have lived in the Midwest, for much of their lives in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. They also spent time in Columbus, Ohio and Springfield, Illinois. Steve is very community service oriented, having been involved in numerous volunteer leadership positions over the years. These include being the President of the Tripoli Country Club in Milwaukee and the Treasurer of the Homeowners Association where they lived in Springfield. Steve has also been the President of their church council while in Milwaukee, the President of a statewide industry trade group, on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, a Board member of a Mutual fund company and was involved in numerous other volunteer activities. Both Steve and Sue are avid golfers and walkers and love what Desert Mountain has to offer. Steve looks forward to bringing his passion for service, finance and operations background, strong work ethic and love of the Desert Mountain community to the Board of the Master Association.
